We believe that there is a unique magic between youth and musical theater.

For 30 years, HITS has been a part of children’s lives, enriching the growth of each individual who crosses our stage. The community act of creating a musical theater production is an effort that not only develops performance skills, but also enhances a child’s confidence, communication, cooperation, self-awareness, resiliency and focus.

Each spring for almost 25 years, we have presented a large-scale Broadway-style musical at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Through these productions, HITS has given over a quarter-of-a-million Houstonians the opportunity to experience live theater free-of-charge. Many of the families in our audiences have no other means to experience the passion of a live theater performance with a full orchestra, professional sets and trained dancers, actors and singers.

But it takes more than artists, technicians, musicians and actors to bring HITS Theatre's work to the stage. HITS relies on the generosity of individuals like you to sustain our productions and programs at the highest level of artistic and educational excellence. Tuition covers less than 40% of our costs and approximately 20% of our students receive some type of needs-based scholarship support.
